Triumph at Twickers

I can’t resist a lap of honour, a sliding swallow-dive and a clenched fist salute on behalf of the lads! So much for the Kiwi war-dance and scary reputation today! (Didn’t see the match but hey! a win’s a win.)

  1. Barstewards! I didn’t even watch the BBC News earlier or look at the newspapers because highlights are on the BEEB later and I didn’t want to know the outcome. 😦

p.s. The Aussies beat Wales, Swansea stuffed Arsenal and Chelsea lost too, so touché.

  2. Magnificent win for England, well played and well deserved.

We watched the whole match, England simply outthought and outplayed them well done, an early Christmas present.

Jeez, I just luv watching the Abs struggling, particularly when they have both Carter and McCaw on the field 🙂

  3. England Women did well too. Beat the Black Ferns convincingly! Good day to be English!

Sorry! I saw Swansea play – managed by a Dane of course! Coverage guranteed, as with Liverpool and Daniel Agger.

  5. Mornin’ Janus and congrats on the pome. With all due respect to Bravo, you can’t watch a rugby international on a tiny YouTube-type screen covered in adverts on your ‘pooter. It deserves a big bugger LED screen like wot I have got If you can get BBC1, the repeat of the Swansea-Arsenal match is just starting on MOTD.

  6. Ah, OZ. You remove the Ads by going full screen. If you have a Mac, you get round the screen-size problem by (One click, no interminable set-up…) switching output to Apple TV…

Another little anecdote. I bought a honking, great plasma TV for the 2003 World Cup – I was still working in HK – which cost me two and a bit times as much as the (bigger) HD TV my son just bought…

  7. I watched the game, well done England, they played well and NZ were undoubtedly below par. Sporting of the ABs coach, Steve Hanson, to say the English deserved to win.

What makes my blood boil is the ridiculous hyperbole about how England are now 2nd favourites to win the 2015 World Cup! Absolute piffle! England couldn’t beat a 2nd string SA team and an injured and wounded Australia team in the two previous weeks, have no decent number 10, captain or any flair, speed or selection consistency. Typical northern Hemisphere cloud cuckoo speak. Let me guess, the Wesh must be favourites by that reckoning!

That said, well done England (the ladies thereof!)
