Results of Photo Competition No 27

No bugs but a pretty border (not mine) !

Now for the verdict:

Nym’s entry :

Brilliant closeup, and even the thread was clearly visible. A most excellent shot of a “pittercattar”.

Christopher’s entry:
Black widow female:  this spider, now deceased, looks sinister, and not very friendly at all! A close up would have been really scary but I can quite understand why one would keep one’s distance!

Christopher’s Red Dragon Fly :

Lovely shot of a dragon fly, I really preferred this to your first entry.

Soutie’s pigeon entry :

Certainly the most discussed of all the entries: ‘young’, ‘half fledged’ and ‘scruffy’ to ‘ruffled’ ‘endearing’ ‘bedraggled’ and ‘ dishevelled’. I really thought the reluctant star had a definite wow factor.

Mr Mackie’s gulls at Circular Quay: A lovely memory, and a reminder, captured. I very much liked the composition of this photograph. That said, your placeholder heron was also pleasing.

Thank you again for  all for your entries.
As ever, it was a really difficult choice but in the end I narrowed it down; was torn between the gulls at Circular Quay and the endearing pigeon.

Only one winner, I’m afraid, so Soutie takes the prize this time. It’s the cuteness factor what did it!

  1. Hey hey! Thank you Ara, thank you.

Good job that I didn’t mention that we shot the thing and chucked the carcass to the dogs, you would probably have deducted points!

Only joking, it’s alive and well and no doubt messing on a neighbour’s car as I write 🙂

I’ll give some thought to #28.
