This is a tough time for patriots. The Australian Grand Slam is already quickening the pulse. Andy the North Brit threatened disaster as usual, but won; while Sam Stosur, the local favourite, didn’t make it over the first hurdle, in company with all the rest of the British contenders.
Meanwhile in deference to the unattached Cuprum, the England cricket team are demonstrating their powers of collapse. Does Pakistan have a point to prove, I wonder? (Not a single no ball yet, I see!)
I think I’d better hibernate for a few days, or the tension will take its toll. Only call me if there’s some good news.
Unattached, I like that! Country wise of course! 😀
The only good news I can see ahead is the Super XV starting next month! Happy sleeps Janus!
There’s some peaceful snooker on just now, Janus; The Masters from Alexandra Palace.
‘Have demonstrated,’ not ‘are demonstrating.’ 😦
Paks bowled out for less than 150?
Chance would be a fine thing, Bravo, England on the rocks already!
I now see that our heroes scored almost 200 runs! That’s not a collapse exactly after all.
Cough, splutter, cough…
Tremlett’s 2nd ball (England’s 2nd over) a big no ball, I wonder what the odds of that happening were 😕
Splutter cough, cough
Akmal is playing at limpets out there and delaying the England fight back (!) – back to bed. 😦
oh dear – 35-4 in the second innings still over 100 behind.
Even the DRS is going against England now.
At least the Scottish Tennis player won again. And Brighton and Hove Albion scraped past Wrexham in the FA cup! And Beckham is staying in America, so not all doom and gloom! 😀
7/100
47 to avoid an Indian-like innings defeat. Against Pakistan, of all people!
What a shower!! 😆
Interestingly the Sky commentators have just pointed out that England have only won once in the last 10 years on the sub-continent – and that was against Bangladesh. Although I didn’t know that fact specifically, it explains my gut feeling that England weren’t going to be a winning team against Pakistan in UAE, hence my comments about being cautious (which were extrapolated into something they weren’t).
I still hope that as winning is a habit, England come good in the remaining two tests.
