Well done Aussie! I didn’t get up early enough to see the game, but notice that the only side to score a try won.
Well done too to the Argies for giving the ABs a damn good workout ahead of beating the Wallabies next week.
For a team to be so overwhelmingly dominant in all aspects of the match (56% possession, 76% territory, 5 line out steals, 4 times longer in opponents 22 not to mention the multi-phase possession stats) and lose is a credit to the Aussie defence and David Pocock in particular.
As for Danie Roussow’s ridiculous foul which gave the Aussies their match winning penalty the less said the better, other than one of the key tenets of this Springbok squad was supposed to be discipline, discipline, discipline!
There’s no doubt the the loss of Heinrick Brussow so early was a game changer but no excuses here, Francois Louw is an adequate replacement but more than ‘adequate’ was needed, well done Australia.
This is the Springboks first ever loss in a test match played on a Sunday (14 games) hopefully we won’t see another soon.
I see your coach has quit already. At least he isn’t as arrogant as MJ. Is there a quota as to the colour of his replacement?
As Mrs FEEG is half Saffer, my daughter was clinging onto the hope that she was still represented in some small way in the RWC. Now even that is gone, and she has to rely on the fact that one of Mrs FEEG’s great grandmothers was half Welsh!
Still, it looks as if Argentina can now fully justify their place in the revamped Quad Nations tournament.
Cuprum, your constant, spiteful carping at all things English reflects worse on you than it does on the English squad.
Sipu – back off, buddy, or have your comments removed. Ad hominem snipes and visually impaired patriotism are the last refuge of a scoundrel bereft of substance.
Cuprum knows his rugger inside out and calls it as he sees it.
It would be hard to imagine a less spiteful chap, but then I know him and you don’t.
Just to point out that the expectation was to reach the semi-final, at least. I have no idea where this ‘winning just for turning up,’ idea came from – there was plenty of criticism about the England teams performance both before and during the competitions – well-justified criticism I might add.
Please allow me to put the boot in 🙂
