There was talk a little while ago about reinstating the creative writing / short story competition at the start of the September term, or end of September – and now we are 2 days into October – so I thought I’d test the water on how interested folk are in taking part.
Thanks for this Pseu! You’ve saved me having to write a post!
I think it’s a good idea to test the water 🙂
If people are interested I don’t mind starting the ball rolling… as I can’t remember who won the last competition
One volunteer is worth ten … 🙂
So if people are interested in reviving the competition – you’ve got the job, Pseu!
I’m all for it Pseu, although my contributions may be thin on the ground, lack of time etc. Nevertheless, I do enjoy reading other peoples writings, I hope that doesn’t sound selfish.
Hello Pseu
The last competitions were in May, here’s the poetry one set by Araminta and here’s the short story one set by Bearsy.
A plea if I may, keep them simple!
I feel the same way about the photo comps JM’s rather complex diptech photo comp. attracted only 2 entries similarly Ara’s cropping comp. attracted few, yet Bilby’s rather simple ‘Trees’ attracted a wide variety!
Different courses for different horses, Soutie!
(Personally I felt Ara’s cropping one was an interesting one in photographic terms.)
I shall start thinking.
That would be good, very good. I need the practice; all I do is mess around online, if I don’t have some concrete writing thing to do…
Good for you, Nym (especially as I raised this issue and then did nothing about it!)
I’ll have a go at the short story competition, but am nervous about poetry, although I do love to read the entries.
