G’dag, Soutie and thanks! Much better pic. :-)

I felt sure my reader would guess it’s a Victorian seminary/sanatorium/sarcophagus or summat.

Janus: Municipal Public Works just like Abbey Mills. On the banks of the Schuykill River.

Isn’t it amazing how well they obstructed buildings in the Victorian era? Now they are destroying buildings built in the 1960s with concrete rot!
Janus, most of the old part of Barnstaple is built in the same style as Balgazette’s building illustrated.

I’m firmly of the opinion that architecturally, nothing much of any consequence was built after the Victorian era, but then I am sure others may well disagree.

    Sydney Opera House?
    Humber Bridge?
    Darwin Airport Terminal?
Parliament House in Canberra (the “new” one)?

The Øresund bridge between Denmark and Sweden is worth mentioning. Very pretty and hugely impressive.
