Dolphin in Algoa Bay

Water in any form, water doesn’t even have to be the subject, simply important to the picture.

A couple of rule changes;

1) I’d like to see pictures taken this year (2012)

2) Members may enter as many times as they like, all will be considered. I know how frustrating it is to have two or three suitable pictures for our competitions and have to pick only one, so I’ve scrapped the ‘one pic only rule’ for this one.

Water it is, solid, liquid or gas, have fun :)

Closing date Sat July 7th (all time zones, I’ll be judging on the Sunday)

Good Luck.

I think I might be able to photograph some water, Soutie. There’s plenty of it around!

  3. June 16, 2012 at 2:50 pm | #3

I might have a go as well, Soutie. I don’t carry a camera around with me but I’m sure I can photograph a water theme indoors. Endless possibilities.

Such a wide brief Soutie and you may find it hard to judge. I’m already thinking outside the box! Anyway, I shall have a go!

    Hello Soutie:

Here’s a couple of water pictures.
My next door neighbor (Bert) has bought a new toy. He claims he does not need a pilot license just some water or some grass to land on.

His son Bert Jr. prefers a more gentle way of life, just a boy and his dog.

that photo of boy and dog is excellent, LW….

I like the idea that the photos have to this year’s, but it stops m posting an old favourite…Ara’s drop of water reminds of it..

thank you to whoever put the picture in the comments for me. I know I should be able to easily do it, but it seems a little hit and miss and I have to test on my won site before I can trust myself to have a go!

Now for something completely different, Soutie!

    Running tap in downstairs cloakroom:

Please ignore my housekeeping standards, or lack of; I thought the washbasin and taps were clean until I zoomed in. ;) I plead hard water and an old house!

    Lovely tiles!

    They are er different, Nym!

  15. June 22, 2012 at 6:15 am | #15

I have enjoyed all the pictures and hope to make a splash later.

PS Ara – are you sure that’s not an icicle!

  17. June 22, 2012 at 6:46 am | #17

Here’s one of Kojo mucking about outside on the patio. He was transferring water from the bucket into the watering can only to pour it back into the bucket again. (The sprinkler cap was off.) Just thought this picture would add to the diversity. I will try and be more imaginative with the next entry!

PS As for the BBQ, this is the wife’s way of emptying out before giving it a good clean.

PS Ara – are you sure that’s not an icicle!

It does look rather “frozen”, I agree, PapaG. It’s quite difficult to photograph fast running water, so I was playing around with my shutter settings, and I somehow managed to end up with either a blur or an icicle!

    Good evening Soutie

Mrs M and I are presently on holiday in CO’s former stomping ground with the newish hound.

CO was kind enough to recommend a few places to visit and my entry is of one of them.

This is the noble exploring canine, Dougal, gazing ‘with a wild surmise; at the Blue Lagoon which is an old slate quarry that has now been flooded by the sea.

Even under cloudy skies, it was still quite blueish.

    C’mon Andy!

One last gasp. same location but a better composition. I could, of course, be wrong.
